Strategic Plan
SAPA has developed a Strategic Plan for 2008-2009. It is very much an evolving document and a work-in-progress. With those notes, click here to download the current SAPA Strategic Plan (99.4Kb pdf file). The latest plan was approved in November 2008.
SAPA KZN is the only global school leaders’ umbrella professional organisation. Its members are the national associations of school leaders. It has developed a purposeful network which develops and encourages opportunities in an inclusive, affiliated democratic manner. The Confederation is non-political and nonsectarian.
Vision:
Linking and supporting the international community of school principal organisations to enhance their members learning and the life opportunities of their students.
Aims of the Organisation:
SAPA KZN will:
* Encourage closer relationships among school leaders of all nations.
* Promote the rights and responsibilities of school leaders and also their professional organisations and the material and ethical interests of the education profession.
* Promote and enhance the image and professionalism of the School Leader.
* Promote the exchange of people and professional publications among the constituent groups, and encouraging participation in meetings and conferences across national boundaries.
* Foster school curricula, which will encourage international understanding and good will, and a respect for human rights and dignity across all races and cultures.
* Promote and encourage equal opportunities for all young persons to learn and develop to their fullest potential in achieving a respectable and productive quality of life.
* Develop a program of activities consistent with the purposes of the organisation.
Mission of the Organisation:
SAPA Executive and Council will achieve these aims by:
* Being committed to the Aims and Objectives of the organisation and having a positive outlook about SAPA KZN
* Devising strategies to achieve the vision and the aims of the organisation.
* Seeking and maintaining open and transparent communications with members and stakeholders and keeping member organisations well informed.
* Monitoring the finances of the organisation and seeking out new financial opportunities.
* Maintaining a positive, forward looking culture within the organisation.
* Being responsive and supportive to the changing needs of members.
The four strands in the 2008-2009 Strategic Plan are:

3. Networks, Communication and Partnerships
4. Regional Support
